Weekend activities to keep the kids active
With the kids now returning to school after the summer holidays, having to worry about occupying them throughout the days isn’t an issue anymore, especially if you have the help of a nanny agency in London. However, as a nanny, it is always nice to have a few activities in the back pocket that are perfect for the weekend or during school holidays.
Treasure hunts
What better way to get them excited whilst also being out in the fresh air than a treasure hunt. A treasure hunt can be as simple or as detailed as you wish. Hide some small sweets or little treats in and around the garden and task the children to find them in a certain amount of time. Simple, yet effective.
Woodland walks
Getting out and about in nature is a really educational way to get the kids outdoors and a woodland walk is a great way to get them spotting some of their favourite animals. Print or write a list beforehand with some of the key animals they should look out for whilst you’re out.
Bicycle ride
If the children you are looking after have a bike, then why not take them out to the local park for a bike ride. If they don’t have their own bikes, you could look to hire them from somewhere local or swap out the two wheels for a scooter or rollerblades.
Home sports day
Although they may be back at school, that doesn’t mean you can’t bring a touch of school to the home. Why not plan a home sports day and get the kids competing against each other to see who can gain the most points.
Hopefully, some of the above activities have given you a little inspiration on how to keep the kids active and outdoors when they are home at the weekends. For more useful guides, head back to our news page.
